Zephex smashes production records in the face of COVID-19
2020 has been a challenging year, but in the face of on-site restrictions and reduced staff numbers, our production teams still delivered a record-breaking year.
By the end of the year, the team had produced more metric tonnes of Zephex 134a than ever before, breaking the previous production record set in 2018.
Our supply chains for Zephex are truly global; stretching from Japan to the United States and from Europe to India and Middle East. Given this and the current climate, breaking our previous record is an excellent example of teamwork across all functions to make this happen and continue producing one of the fundamental products in treating patients with respiratory conditions.
Tipu Salahuddin, our Downstream Operations Director said: “I think the Zephex 134a production record is a truly fantastic achievement and a testament to two key contributors – (a) the resilience of our team members across our operations & supply chains, and (b) products like medical propellants (Z134a) and agrochemicals feedstock (CTF) that positively impact millions of lives around the globe irrespective of the circumstances, actually more so in times of crisis like 2020.
In a year where people’s personal and professional lives have been significantly disrupted, supply chains have been put under immense strain and demand has reached an unprecedented scale, our exceptional teams have worked collaboratively and tirelessly to deliver everything that our customers needed, when they needed it and whilst maintaining our highest standards of quality. I couldn’t be prouder of the people at Koura and am humbled to be a part of this brilliant team.”
Earlier in 2020, we featured in the Chemical Industries Association COVID-19 series in partnership with ITN Productions, as a result of the work done to continue production, which you can watch now.
